Circus Maniacs House Keeping Rules

Our training studio in the South Wing EAST, the Gymnasium, and all the facilities on the Kingswood Foundation site are essentially shared spaces.

Please respect this and assume that all the House Keeping Rules and Kingswood Foundation Site Rules are your individual responsibility, and ensure the communal and training spaces are treated with respect.

Training Spaces

You must be ready to leave all the training spaces at the time specified on your timetable / booking form. This means beginning to clear the space of all equipment well before the time you should be leaving.

Observing the House Rules allows for safe training, good relations with other users & a more pleasant environment to train in.

  1. Only use the equipment that belongs to you, or your organisation.
  2. All aerial equipment must be paged out securely to its appropriate place at the end of each session; or alternatively de-rigged & stored away in the appropriate place.
  3. Equipment belonging to other performers / organisations, if used or left down by mistake, is to be paged out appropriately & the relevant member of Circus Maniacs staff informed.
  4. Accessories like gloves, chalk, rosin, tools & rigging are to be put away at the end of each session.
  5. Mats are to be returned to their appropriate place & stacked neatly at the end of each session.
  6. All rubbish with blood on it is to be placed in the medical waste bin provided.
  7. Lost property will be kept for one month after which it will be disposed of.
  8. Keep the fire exits clear at all times.
  9. Any freestanding ladders that cannot be secured to the wall are not to be left standing against walls but lain down.
  10. No food, only water to drink is allowed in the in the allocated areas of the South Wing & Gymnasium.
    Food & drink may only be consumed in the allocated area of the South Wing EAST.
  11. No Smoking. No Alcohol.
  12. The portable gas fires are to be operated by the following named Circus Maniacs Staff only.
    A current list of authorised persons will be displayed on the Health & Safety Notice Board in the Training Space.
    The only exception is in the event of an emergency, such as a gas leak - Then follow the instructions posted up above the fire.
  13. If you are the last person to leave the training space, it is your duty to check:
    (a) all aerial equipment is to be paged out after practise to the appropriate place; or alternatively de-rigged & stored away in the appropriate place.
    (b) all mats have been stacked neatly.
    (c) any freestanding ladders are not left standing against walls but lain down.
    (d) that any gloves, chalk, rosin, tools & rigging are put away.
    (e) all small equipment is to put away tidily in the Circus Maniacs storage cupboards.
    (f) all rubbish is to be placed in the bins provided.
    (g) that any clothing, bags etc.. left behind by mistake are placed in Circus Maniacs' 'Lost Property'.
    (h) all fire exits are free from obstruction.
    (i) the heating has been turned off safely (if you are not authorised, please ask a named person to do this; if no-one available call 07977 — 247 287 - Circus Maniacs' mobile).
    (j) all windows, storage cupboards & outside doors are secure.

If there is an accident or medical emergency, please follow 'Circus Maniacs - Procedures for dealing with Accidents & Medical Emergencies', on the Health & Safety Notice Board (in SW EAST).
