about us

Originally founded in 1995, Circus Maniacs is an independent circus training school currently based at the Kingswood Foundation, Bristol (we will be moving to new premises in September '09).

The school's director is Jacqueline Welbourne, formerly the UK's top international award-winning aerial acrobat, winning major prizes at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain and the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo. She also performed her aerial act all around the world, including starring with the world famous Cirque du Soleil.

Circus Maniacs' main activities are its professional artist training programme - which provides specialist full and part-time training aimed both at experienced circus artists and complete beginners; its youth circus, which ranges from classes for children as young as 3, to two fully-fledged performance companies for ages 8-12 and 13-18; and a series of evening classes and one and two-week intensives throughout the year. Circus Maniacs is also available for parties and other bespoke events.
