what to wear

All students must wear the appropriate clothing & footwear for each of the activities. Failure to wear appropriate clothing may mean that you will not be able to participate in all the activities we offer.

Clothing

  • Suitable clothing includes: tracksuits, leotards, comfortable but not baggy t-shirts/tops, shorts, leggings etc.
  • Strictly no jeans.
  • For acrobatics & trapeze, additional care that tops are snug fitting, covering the waist & back, and are not too revealing!
  • In general it is best that everyone brings clothing that covers legs, waists & backs even if it is not worn all the time. Participants are usually more comfortable and protected with this type of clothing when participating in some of the skills.

Footwear

  • The best type of footwear you can bring with you for circus workshops to ensure all round participation are training shoes or daps.
  • If visiting us on a wet day your trainers will need to be in addition to your outdoor shoes.
  • For stilt-walking & unicycling sturdy shoes with no heels may also be worn.
  • For tightwire Circus Maniacs will supply suitable training shoes.
  • For acrobatics, trapeze & aerial skills you will usually work in bare feet.

Jewellery

  • No Jewellery is allowed for Health & Safety reasons.
  • Also any body piercings must be properly covered or removed.
