short-term training: 1 - 6 weeks

The main aims of the training:

  • That students receive a fast-track and highly intensive training experience specific as possible for their individual needs.

Who the training is for:

  • Aimed mainly at professionals who recognise they could do with a supportive boost in specific areas, but are busy and find it hard to make time for further development.
  • Also occasionally may be suitable for seriously fit beginners with strong parallel skills hoping to get the best result in a short timeframe
  • All students will need to have a high degree of self-motivation and commitment.

key features

  • Training & support given is specific and unique to each student / act.
  • Highly intensive experience: 1:1 or 1:2 tutor to student ratios.
  • We try to work around gaps in your schedule.
  • Training may vary from 1 to 6 weeks, according to individual requirements.
  • We aim to source tutors and choreographic/production support to match your specific needs.
  • We are happy to give direction to support the development of existing work.
  • There will also be creative space/time to work through ideas.
  • If there is time, and it is felt to be a realistic goal, we can look at gaining some basic competences in new skills.

Specialisms offered:

  • Aerial techniques: trapeze, tissu, corde lisse, web, ring, straps.
  • Acrobatic techniques: tumbling, trampoline, trampette, hand-balancing.
  • Chinese acrobatics: Chinese pole, hoop diving, lion dance, manipulation.

We also offer other skills such as tight-wire, juggling & manipulation etc, and there is the possibility of bringing in additional specialist tutors according to student requirements. Choreographic support is available whatever the discipline.

We have around 12 tutors working with the school; you are likely to work with about 4-8 of them on a weekly basis. The aerial coaching is of high quality, and we have a Chinese coach teaching the Chinese pole and other Chinese-style acrobatics skills.

Costs:

Fees start at £750 per week up, dependant on requirements.
