about us
Originally founded in 1995, Circus Maniacs is an independent circus training school. Our head office moved on 1st September 2009, and is currently based at Basepoint Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, we also have an office based in Kingswood, Bristol.
The school's director is Jacqueline Welbourne, formerly the UK's top international award-winning aerial acrobat, winning major prizes at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain and the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo. She also performed her aerial act all around the world, including starring with the world famous Cirque du Soleil.
Circus Maniacs' main activities are its professional artist training programme - which provides specialist bespoke training aimed both at experienced circus artists and complete beginners; its youth circus, which ranges from classes for children as young as 3, to a two-staged training program for young professionals with performance companies for ages 8-12 and 13-18; and a series of evening classes and one and two-week intensives throughout the year. (Details of exactly what we will be offering in 2009/2010 will be available shortly).
Circus Maniacs has consultants and specialist teachers that we can use to assist organisations to set up circus training programmes in other locations – UK or abroad. We also offer a range of private workshops, parties and other bespoke events..

We have moved!
After 14 years of being based at the Kingswood Foundation, Circus Maniacs has moved...
After our initial relocation plans fell through at the 11th hour, we were invited to Basepoint Tewkesbury and where we have been given office, storage and production workshop facilities for 12 months rent-free!
For our existing clients we will still retain a Bristol based office but this address has also changed.
Please click here for all our new contact details.
From 1st September 2009 we will therefore be offering lots of community outreach workshops, projects, parties and events travelling out from both hubs: Bristol and Tewkesbury, servicing a 60 mile radius.
If you’d like to know more about what we offer or require a quote please get in touch.
We are very excited about our relocation and are looking to develop new partnerships with local government, schools and also arts / sports / community / rural / health / environmental organisations in and around our new location.
We will also be offering some new style workshops to businesses across the UK... More about this later!
We hope to shortly offer a program of weekly children’s classes and adults evening classes local to both locations, but have been delayed in setting these up by our Big Move and organising ourselves in our new environment! We have still more potential venues to check out but will finalising things very soon. If you are interested in receiving a ‘hot off the press’ update about our classes and short courses as soon as the schedule is ready, please sign up for our newsletter and you will be amongst the first to know.
